Colombo V. DiFilippo, 75, Chemical Operator

He was born on September 1, 1929 in Lorain and lived here all his life. He was a 1948B graduate of Lorain High School. He was a member of St. Mary of The Lake Catholic Church. Mr. DiFilippo served in the Ohio National Guard for four years, activated in 1951 and honorably discharged in 1952.
Mr. DiFilippo was a plasterer for many years working for his father's business the former Vince DiFilippo Plastering. He then was a Western-Southern Life Insurance Agent for six years followed by 25 years service as a chemical operator at B. F. Goodrich Chemical Co. He retired in 1992.
He was a member of the I.A.V. Post# 1, Knights of St. John in Lorain, and the K-Mart Fellowship Club.
He enjoyed skiing, bowling, golfing and playing Bingo.
Mr. DiFilippo is survived by his wife Mary Lee (nee Burgett) DiFilippo to whom he was married on Feb. 23, 1952, his four sons, David A DiFilippo of Sheffield Village, Craig V. DiFilippo, Dennis C DiFilippo, and Michael J DiFilippo all of Lorain, 9 grandchildren, his twin brother Clemente DiFilippo of Avon, sisters Philomena "Fannie" Ivancic of Elyria, and Angela Terry of East Lansing, MI.
He is preceded in death by his parents Vince and Elisabetta (nee Freda) DiFilippo, and a brother Victor DiFilippo.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Monday, February 28, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 10:30 am in Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, followed by an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Of The Lake Catholic Church, Eight & Reid Ave., Lorain, OH, with Father James P. Schmitz, pastor of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church celebrating and Father John J. Kline, pastor emeritus of St. Mary of The Lake Catholic Church con-celebrating. Colombo V. DiFilippo will be buried at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
