Robert Ruth, 54, Navy Veteran
Robert Michael Ruth, 54 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2005 at his home following a sudden illness.He was born October 2, 1950 in Amherst where he lived his whole life. He was a graduate of Admiral King High School in Lorain.
He served in the US Navy stationed in the USS John McCain in Long Beach, California. He was employed by I.T.S. at Ford Motor Co in Lorain for many years and then was employed by the Henkel Corp., in Avon for three years in the distribution department. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his mother, Arlene Ruth of Amherst, his brothers Tim Ruth of Cleveland, Alan Ruth of Lorain, Todd Ruth of Lakewood, Joel Ruth of Elyria, and Tedd Ruth of Lorain; his sisters Renee Romes, Lori Abbott, Lisa Schwarz, and Tracey Schwarz, all of Lorain; eight nephews; six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert J. Ruth in 1996; and by his sister Jan Ruth in 1957.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Kevin Saylor, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
