Sarah Meyers, 71, Secretary At Former St. Joseph's Hospital

She was born June 10, 1933 in Garrison KY and had been a Lorain resident since 1957, moving from Sandusky.

Mrs. Meyers graduated from Sandusky High School in 1951 and had attended Lorain County Community College. She worked as a secretary for the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain and retired in 1990 after 33 years.

She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, baking, and especially enjoyed making Christmas cookies.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband Richard J. Meyers in 2003; parents, Rufus and Elizabeth Skaggs; four sisters, Ida Cooper, Ellen Schaefer, Nanomi Jackson, and Mary McCleese; and, three brothers, Alvin, James, and Cecil Skaggs.

Friends may call Tuesday March 29, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.

Prayers will be held at the funeral home at 9:30 am on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, with a Mass of Christian Burial at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, at 10 am with Rev. Chuck Henkle officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
