Alice L. Moorman, 78, Enjoyed Crocheting & Knitting

Alice L. Moorman, (nee Itterly), age 78, of Sheffield Lake, died Monday April 4, 2005 at the home of her daughter following a brief illness.

Mrs. Moorman was born in New York, New York and had been a resident of Sheffield Lake for more than forty-five years.

A homemaker, wife, and mother, she was widely acknowledged as an accomplished collector of all things great and small; additional interests included knitting and crocheting.

Alice is survived by sons: Dennis R. Moorman of Mount Dora, Florida, Michael A. Moorman of Avon Lake, daughter: Anita L. Hammer of Lorain, six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, a brother: Robert Itterly residing in New Jersey, and sisters: Marie Martin of North Carolina and Grace O’Donnell living in Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years: Robert in 1991, by a grandson: Damon Moorman in 2000, by her parents: Quintas and Anna Maria (nee Legaye) Itterly, and a sister: Margaret “Peg” Juodzevich.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 6, 2005, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway – Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 12:00 noon in Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church – 1305 East Erie Avenue – Lorain. The Reverend Joseph West, O.F.M. Conv., pastor of Saint Anthony Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park – Amherst Township.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
