Robert Elwood Mick, 71, Day Operations Supervisor

He was born October 10, 1933, in Gassaway, West Virginia where he was raised. Amherst has been his home for the last fifty-two years.

He was employed by the former BF Goodrich, now Poly One for thirty-nine years retiring in 1992 as a day operations supervisor. Robert loved working with his hands doing woodworking and also enjoyed gardening, garage sales and auctions.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Reta M. Mick (nee: Sands); his son Robin Mick of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his daughter Laura Butrey of Avon Lake and Rebecca Mick-Wakefield of Atlanta, Georgia; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and his sisters Martha Miller of St. Louis, Missouri and Eva Wright of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Eulah Mick (nee: Gibson).

Friends may call Monday, April 18, 2005, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
