Erma J. Molnar, 88, Known for her Great Sense of Humor

Erma J. Molnar, (nee Nanasy), age 88, long-time Lorain County resident, died Tuesday April 26, 2005 at the Wickliffe Country Place in Wickliffe, Ohio following an illness of six months.

Mrs. Molnar was born in Lorain, Ohio on January 24, 1917 and was a graduate of Lorain High School.

She was formerly employed as a resident manager for the Pikewood Manor Mobile Home Community in Elyria as well as a sales associate for the Zayre Department Stores.

An active member of the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ, she was a member of the church choir as well a member of the church’s Busy Martha Guild. She also volunteered there by delivering meals to area shut-ins.

Known for her great sense of humor, she was a voracious reader who also enjoyed all forms of crafts and especially designing, building, and arranging miniature rooms. She had previously been active with the Erie Shores Council of the Girl Scouts.

Erma is survived by a daughter: Susan Smith of Lyndhurst, a son: Robert W. Molnar of Sylvania Township, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Molnar in 1983, and by her parents: John and Susan (nee Csutoras) Nanasy.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of memorial services at 11:00 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Lorain. The Reverend Frank Juhasz Shepherd, interim pastor of the Hungarian Reformed Church will officiate.
