Mary Fazekas, 88, Avid Bowler

Mary Fazekas (nee Ksenich), 88, of Lorain, died Thursday April 28, 2005 at Patrician Skilled Nursing Center in North Royalton.

She was born May 4, 1916 in Lorain and had lived in Lorain most of her life.

Mary was a graduate of Lorain High School. She managed the Neumode Company department store that sold women’s hosiery in Lorain. She was an avid bowler and tennis player and a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain.

She is survived by her son Wayne Fazekas and his wife Vicki of North Royalton, grandson David Fazekas and his wife Mary of Westlake and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Alex Fazekas in 1990, parents Alex and Anna Ksenich (nee Oleksa), brothers Alex Ksenich, Michael Ksenich, John Ksenich and Andrew Ksenich and sister Anna Ksenich.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 1, 2005, from 2-4, 6-8 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the Parastas service will be held Sunday at 6:00 PM. Panachida services will be held Monday at 9:30 AM in the funeral chapel followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th St., Lorain. The Rev. Nicholas Rachford, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
