Geraldine "Gerry" Louise Tait, 86, Legal Secretary

She was born December 21, 1918 in Norwalk, Ohio. She was raised in Norwalk and graduated from St. Paul's High School. After marrying, she and her husband moved to Elyria and then to Lorain in 1953. She moved to Vermilion in 1992.

She worked for 25 years as a legal secretary for the legal firm of Keep & Schultz in Lorain. She enjoyed playing with her great-grandchildren, animals, dancing, cooking, going to Las Vegas and watching mystery movies.

Survivors include her daughter, Vicky Schweinberg of Vermilion; grandchildren, Wendy Baxter and Anthony Schweinberg, both of Vermilion; great-grandsons, Riley and Nathan Baxter; sister, Mary Dolamore of Tavares, FL; and, seven nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband for 45 years Ralph I. Tait in 1994; parents, Carl and Tina (nee Gfell) Smith; and, brother, Charles F. Smith.

Friends may call Tuesday, May 3, 2005 from 6-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at 1:00 pm with Sr. Eve Marie Korzym, Pastoral Associate for St. Mary's Catholic Church, Vermilion, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Elyria.
