Richard E. Grassnig, 88, Enjoyed Hunting and Golf
Richard E. Grassnig, 88 of Lorain died on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Inn At Chappel Creek in Vermilion, OH following a long illness.Richard was born on May 15, 1916 in Lorain, OH and was a life long resident. He was a 1935 graduate of Lorain High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII.
Mr. Grassnig was a retired custodian from the Lorain Board of Education. He was a member of the Espicopal Church of the Redeemer, American Legion Post # 30, and Masonic Lodge # 786 F & AM.
He enjoyed hunting and golfing.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Helen Marjorie (nee Fair) Grassnig, son Richard W. Grassnig of Amherst, daughter Sally Radabaugh of Amherst, 3 grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Mr. Grassnig was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Minnie ( nee Koleno) Grassnig and a brother Louis Grassnig.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 10:00 am in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 with Rev. Stephen Sedgwick, rector of the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer, 647 Reid Ave. Lorain, Ohio 44052, officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 is handling the arrangements.
