Charles ''Chuck'' G. Parker, 70, General Superintendent
Charles "Chuck" G. Parker, 70, of Lorain, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 in Community Health Partners West, Lorain, after a lengthy illness.He was born November 29, 1934 in Lorain and was a life long resident.
He worked as a general superintendent for American Ship for 30 years. He also worked for Industrial Security as a security guard for USS/Kobe, Lorain, retiring in 2002.
He was a former member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, coached Little League Baseball for Lucas Plumbing, and Charlie's Yankees and sponsored Charlies' Angels Bowling League. He enjoyed golf, boating, camping, boxing and watching the Cleveland Indians on television.
Survivors include daughters, Patti Murray and Connie Hicks, both of Lorain; 6 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; sister, Joanne Dirling of Celebration, FL; half brother, George Parker of Lorain; mother-in-law, Dorothy Buerger; and companion, Jean Rock; and, several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Edna (nee Buerger) in 1998; parents, George Parker and Agnes Buckley (nee Stevens);and, brother, Gilbert Parker.
Friends may call Sunday, May 15, 2005, from 4 - 9 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Ely Lodge #424, will conduct Masonic Services at 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, May 16, 2005, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
