Agnes Gawlik, 73, Hobbies Included Crocheting and Knitting
Agnes Gawlik, (nee Sas), age 73, of Amherst, died Friday, May 13, 2005 at her residence following a brief illness.Mrs. Gawlik was born October 10, 1931 in Lorain and had been a resident of Amherst for the past eight years moving from Wakeman. She had previously resided in Lorain.
Agnes was a graduate of Lorain High School and had been a long-time parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain. Her hobbies included crocheting and knitting.
Survivors include three sons: Henry Gawlik, Jr. residing in San Angelo, Texas, Mark of Amherst, and Darrell of Lorain, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sisters: Kathryn Pruchnicki and Margaret Simmons both of Lorain, and a brother: George Sas living in Eaton Township.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Henry Gawlik, Sr. in 1993, by her parents: George and Mary (nee Blasko) Sas, by brothers: Robert, Frank, and John Sas, and by sisters Mary Pernisky and Anna Fulmer.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 17, 2005, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday beginning at 9:30a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 1454 Lexington Avenue Lorain. The Reverend Robert Glepko, pastor of the parish and Reverend Mr. Robert Dybo, permanent deacon of the church will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Lorain.
