Elizabeth Wolfe-Miles, 88, North Shore Singles' Dance Club Member
Elizabeth Wolfe-Miles, (nee Sallay) age 88, of Elyria, died Monday May 16, 2005 at the Inn at Medina.She was born November 29, 1916 in New Lexington, Ohio and had been a long-time resident of Lorain County.
Mrs. Miles was retired from a career that spanned more than twenty years as a school bus driver with the Elyria Board of Education.
She was formerly active as a member of the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ of Lorain where she was a member of the Busy Martha Guild, the Hungarian Sick Benefit Society, and the Hungarian Reformed Federal Credit Union. She was also a member and former treasurer for the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (O.A.P.S.E.)
Elizabeth’s hobbies included knitting and gardening. Additional interests included ballroom dancing as a member of the West Shore Singles’ Dance Club.
Survivors include sons Bruce Wolfe of Spencer, Ohio and Joe Wolfe of Scottsdale, Arizona, daughter Judith Smith of Wellington, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sister: Irene Smith of Lorain, and brothers: Jim Sallay of Elyria and Louis Sallay residing in the state of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Wolfe, by her parents: Joseph and Sophia (nee Oris) Sallay, by a brother: Joe Sallay, and by sisters: Wilma Stone and Sophie Reith.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 19, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Lee Stall, pastor of Kipton Community Church officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Amherst Township.
