Lillian E. Krul, 75, Served As Secretary At Hungarian Reformed Church

Lillian E. Krul (nee Kovacs), age 75, of Lorain, died Monday May 16, 2005 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph following a brief illness. Mrs. Krul was born in Lorain on November 22nd 1929 and had been a life-long resident of the city.

She was an active member of the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ where she had served as church secretary from 1968 through 2000. She was also a member of the Busy Martha Guild there as well as the Hungarian Sick Benefit Society, and the Hungarian Federal Credit Union; she was a past member of the church consistory.

Mrs. Krul previously had served as a member and past president of the Larkmoor Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization.

A member of the Vermilion Power Boats Yacht Club, her hobbies included league bowling, fishing, and the companionship of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lil is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years Louis S. Krul, sons: Randall J. Krul and his wife Kathy of Chesterfield, Missouri and Robert L. Krul and his wife Terri residing in Brunswick, Ohio, daughter: Mrs. Kurt (Jackie) Schumacher of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18, 2005, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway – Lorain where a memorial prayer service will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ – 1691 East 31st Street – Lorain. The Reverend Atilla Szemesi, pastor of Amherst Congregational United Church of Christ will officiate. Private family graveside services will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park – Amherst Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family strongly encourages memorial contributions in Lil’s name to either the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ – 1691 East 31st Street – Lorain, Ohio 44055 pr to CHP Regional Foundation/New Life Hospice – 3700 Kolbe Road – Lorain, Ohio 44053.
