Mildred Gidich, 86, Avid Cleveland Indians Fan
Mildred Gidich (nee Busich), 86, of Lorain, died Saturday June 4, 2005. She was born on March 15, 1919 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.Mildred graduated from Lorain High School. She was a member of St. John Ukrainian Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain and had attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain.
Mildred was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her son Raymond Gidich of Lorain, daughter with whom she made her home Barbara Gidich of Lorain, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Gidich in 1991, son Michael Patrick Gidich in 1972, parents Nicholas & Millicent Busich (nee Mamula), brother Michael Busich and sisters Mary Puchalsky and Sophie Uhse.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where Panachida services will be held Tuesday at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the funeral chapel followed by the Divine Liturgy at 11:00 AM at St. John Ukrainian Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 3038 Charleston Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Steven Paliwoda, pastor, will officiate and burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
