David A. Wilson, 77, History Enthusiast

David A. Wilson, 77, of Amherst, passed away at 3:50 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2005. Born in Lorain on September 3, 1927, Wilson died at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a short illness.

A lifelong resident of Lorain, he was a foreman at P.C. Campana Co. for 7 years, before retiring in 1989. Prior to working for Campana Co., Wilson was a foreman at American Ship Buiding in Lorain.

Mr. Wilson belonged to the Church of St. Peter, and was a member of LOCO Brits (Lorain County British Car Club). He was a history enthusiast, and enjoyed family geneology. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, and cars.

Wilson is survived by his son James Wilson of Lorain; daughters Jane Lugar of Lorain and Marilyn Vazur of Grosse Isle, MI.; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister Loretta Wilson of Lorain; and brothers James Edward Wilson of Winter Haven, FL, William Wilson of Lorain, and Walt Wilson of Omaha, NE.

He is preceded in death by wife Maryann in 1991; brothers Leroy, Vance, Richard, and Jack Wilson; and infant sister Mary.

Visitations will be held at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain OH, from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday. The funeral will take place the following day, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, and will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Ralph Krupp. David Wilson will be buried at the Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
