Robert "Bob" E. Dull, 78, Veteran of WWII

Robert "Bob" E. Dull, 78 years of age, and a resident of Clarksfield, OH, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 18, 2005, at Community Health Partners following a two and a half year ilness.

He was born April 13, 1927 in Amherst, where he was raised and graduated from high school in the class of 1945. He had been a resident of the Clarksfield/ Wakeman area since 1979.

Bob was a veteran of WWII, serving in the EAME theater in Italy. For fifty years, he worked as a bricklayer with North Ridgeville Local 34, retiring in 1990.

For thirty years, he enjoyed participating in the local print car racing circuit. He loved collecting and working on antique gasoline engines. He enjoyed traveling and camping, as well as deer hunting. He also enjoyed passing the time doing word puzzles.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-seven years, Nihla R. (nee Maine); his son Dennis Dull; daughter Kathy Sommers and step-daughter, Penny Lynn Hotsinpiller, all of Lorain; ten grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Richard Dull of Grafton; and sister Marge Dull of Vermilion.

He was preceded in death by parents, Fortis and Carthryn Dull (nee Goldie).

Friends may call Tuesday from 2- 4 and 7- 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. The Rev. Norfleet R. Jones of Christian Heritage Assembly of God will officiate. Full military honors will be given by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Gaurd. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be mde to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720, or to the American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-9813.
