Betty J. Box, 81, Avid Artist

She was born May 3, 1924 in LaGrange Twp and had been a life long resident of Lorain County.

She was a home maker, a good cook and a faithful farm wife who enjoyed caring for the family home.

Mrs. Box was a 4-H advisor for the Penfield Jolly Stitchers where she taught sewing to her youth. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and craft projects and was an avid artist working in watercolors and pencil sketches. Her art was exhibited in the Lorain County Fair. She loved tending to her flowers and caring for the hummingbirds and cardinals that gathered on her porch and in her garden.. Her Buckingham sense of humor and positive attitude brightened many days. Senior Citizen bus trips, family picnics and outings and shopping were her favorites.

She is survived by 2 Daughters Mrs Sue (Jim) Barbor of Wellington, Ohio, Mrs Jean (Ron) Runion of Penfield, Ohio, 1 Son Robert (LouAnne) Box of Penfield, Ohio, 13 grandchildren, Lisa & Dwight Rice , Diane & Ed Runion, Carolyn & Ron Clement Tom Barbor, Beth & Joel Slone, John & Ann Runion, Melissa & Chris Botson, Julie & Gary Martin, Laura Box, Jeff Box, Jamie & Scott Nichols, Jill Westfall, Ericka Sawyer
6 Great grandchildren, Dylan, Taylor, Lacie, Elena, Zachary, Chase, 2 Sisters Emily Buga of LaGrange, Ohio, Ruth Hildebrandt of Elyria, Ohio, 2 Brothers Richard Buckingham of Grafton, Ohio, Charles Buckingham of Elyria, Ohio.

She is proceded in death by her husband Glade in 1997, her parents William & Goldie Buckingham, brothers Gerald & James, and sister Geraldine.

Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton Sunday, June 26, 2005, from 2:00 to 5:00pm with funeral services Monday in the funeral home at 11:00am with Elder Mike Smith off. Burial will be in River Rd. Cemetery, LaGrange Twp.
