John Roth, 85, United States Navy Seabee Veteran

Photo of John Roth John Roth, 85, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005 in Mill Manor Nursing Home, Vermilion after a lengthy illness.

He was born on July 31, 1919 in Cleveland and graduated from West Tech High School. He was a longtime resident of Seven Hills and a summertime resident of Vermilion since 1965.

He was a United States Navy Seabee Veteran serving in the South Pacific from 1943-1945.

Mr. Roth owned and operated numerous businesses throughout the Cleveland area in the steel stamping and tool and die industry. He was a member of the American Metal Stamping Association and a past member of the Parma Lutheran Church. He also sat on the Seven Hills Zoning Board for many years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and time spent in Vermilion-on-the-Lake.

Survivors include 3 daughters: Susan (Bob) Garrod of Hawaii, Sally Roth of Vermilion and Sandra (Dr. Raul) Seballos of Shaker Heights; 5 grandchildren: John, Joanna, Spencer, Evan, and Anna; wife, Dolores Roth of Vermilion.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Michael and Katherine (nee Hine) Roth, sister, Kay Molnar and a brother, Martin Roth.

Friends may call Monday June 27, 2005 from 3:00 - 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, with a service at 6:00pm.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Sunset Memorial Gardens (Section 1-0), 6265 Columbia Road, N. Olmstead. Vicar Rob Schmidt, Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermilion, will officiate the services.
