Charles W. Cantrell, Jr., 66 of Vermilion, died Thursday, June 23, 2005 in Community Health Partners West after a lengthy illness.He was born June 4, 1939 in Newark, Arkansas. He has been a Vermilion resident for the past 31 years, moving from Lorain.
He worked for the Ford Motor Company in Lorain in the stock department, retiring in 1991 after 32 years.
He was a United States Army Veteran and was a member of the UAW Local #425. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doris (nee Rodgers); 2 sons, Charles W. Cantrell, Jr. and Robert D. Cantrell, both of Vermilion; a grandson, Owen C. Cantrell; and a sister, Paula Cantrell Echols of South Haven, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gladys (nee Moore) Cantrell.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 27, 2005 from 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at 10 am, with Funeral Celebrant, Matt Humphrey, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
