Mary C. Rahotina, 95, Avid Traveler

Mary C. Rahotina (nee Ivancic), 95 of Lorain died Thursday, June 30, 2005 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain, following a brief illness.

She was born July 31, 1909 in Lorain. She was a life long resident of Lorain. She graduated in 1927 from Lorain High School.

Mrs. Rahotina retired as an office Manager for Dr. Paul Smith and Dr. Ball both practiced in Lorain. During World War II, she worked for the home war effort at the steel mill.

She was a member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Slovenian Catholic Church, South Lorain. The Church's Altar and Rosary Society and the Woman's Guild. She was also a member the Grandmother and Goldenagers Pinochle Club. Mrs. Rahotina enjoyed traveling. She visited every state in the union with her late husband. She had also flown over the Artic Circle.

Among the survivors are her daughter Mary Ann Masiowski of Hudson; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brothers Frank and Tom Ivancic both of Lorain and John Ivancic of Cleveland Heights; a sister Johanna Stiglin of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her Husband of 51 years Frank Rahotina in 1979; a daughter Joan Rahotina in 2001; and a brother William Ivancic.

Friends may call Tuesday 9:00 AM until Closing Prayers at 11:30 AM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio, followed by Funeral mass at 12:00 PM in Saints Cyril and Methodius Slovenian Catholic Church East 31st Street and Globe Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Father Paul Krajnik, Pastor Officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
