Mary Columbus, 73, Former Area Resident

Mary Columbus, age 73 of Penfield Twp., passed away Monday, July 11, 2005 in Inova Commonwealth Care Facility in Fairfax City, VA after a 9 month illness.

She was born Thursday, July 16, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio, living in Penfield Twp. most of her life. She was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Grafton for many years.

Mrs. Columbus was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family home, and also enjoyed needlework and gardening.

She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Mary Gallagher of Fairfax, Va., and sons Richard & Andrew Columbus.

She is proceded in death by her husband Andrew Jr. in April of 2004; her parents Benjamin & Frances Mayhew; and 2 grandchildren, Dustin Columbus and Patrick Gallagher.

Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral mass will follow the next day at Assumption Catholic Church; 1033 Elm St., Grafton at 9:00 a.m. with Fr. John Seabold pastor officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Station Cemetery, Columbia Station, Ohio.
