Marion G. Coleman, 84, Avid Golfer

Marion G. Coleman (nee West) 84, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at Amherst Manor Nursing Home following a long illness.

Mrs. Coleman was born on January 10, 1921, in Lorain, OH, living here most of her life. She graduated from Lorain High School. She was a member of the former First United Methodist Church, now known as Cornerstone United Methodist Church, and a member of Lakeland Women's Club.

She had been employed in the credit department of Ted Jacob's Clothing Store for several years before its closing. She was most recently a home maker. Mrs. Coleman was an avid golfer, participating in several leagues.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by her daughter, Cathy Miller of Lorain; 2 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jay W. Coleman in 1985; daughter Kaye Janka in 1971; and her parents Frances and Ruth (nee Grundy) West.

Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals 1124 West 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Friday, July 15, 2005, from 10:00 am to 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Dale Warrick pastor of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Twp., OH.
