Herta Selent, 79, Nurses Aid

Born February 27, 1926 in Germany, she moved to the area in 1952.

She worked as a Nurses Aid at St. Joseph Hospital for 23 years retiring in 1985. After retirement, she performed nursing care at patients’ homes. Herta was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her sons, Dieter Selent of Brooklyn, Ohio, Klaus Selent of Rocky River, Ohio, daughters, Irene Ott of Lorain, Anita Selent of Olmstead Falls, Ohio, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, brother, Horst Ryll of Germany.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974, Jacob Selent, parents, Adolf and Anna Ryll, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 16, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday, July 18, 2005 at 1:30 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Jimmy W. Madsen will be officiating.

Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
