Donald G. Roth, 78, Duffin Manufacturing Retiree

He was born March 14, 1927 in Lorain and was a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Don was a graduate of the Lorain High School class of 1945A and attended Ohio University in Athens. He served with the US Army during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
Don retired from Duffin Manufacturing Company (Gehrke & Son Manufacturing) in Lorain where he worked as a supervisor of quality inspection. He also had worked part time as a school bus driver for Murray Ridge School and as a security guard at Lorain Products.
He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain, VFW Post #451 of Lorain, American Legion Post #30 of Lorain and a former member of the Lorain Yacht Club.
He was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Marilyn J. (nee Hyde); daughters Lori J. Stack of Amherst and Lisa A. Crumley of Lorain; son David G. Roth of Sussex, Wisconsin; 4 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; and brother Raymond E. Roth of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond E. Booty Roth and Florence B. Roth.
The family will receive friends Thursday 6-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Private family funeral services will be held. The Rev. Daniel Divis, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church of Lorain will officiate with military honors provided by the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 of Lorain.
