Mary "Louise" Purcell, 97, Active Volunteer

She was born October 15, 1907 in New Haven Township, OH and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 37 years, moving from Birmingham.
She worked as Owner/Operator of Purcell Hardware and General Store in Birmingham.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermilion and Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard. She was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary Post # 8032 in Birmingham where she was past president. She was the last remaining charter member of Club 18 in Birmingham and a member of the 12 o'clock Club in Birmingham. She was also a member of the 60 Plus Club, and had volunteered at Lorain Community Hospital and the Vermilion Food Pantry.
Survivors include a step son, Clayton Purcell of Mount Rose, CO; 9 step grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; and 5 step great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Thomas Purcell in 1971; parents, Albert and Edith (nee Rothenhoefer) Feichtner; and step daughters, Dawn Friedley and Norma Diehl.
Friends may call Friday, July 29, 2005 from 4-7 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 3747 Liberty Avenue, Vermilion, on Saturday, July 30, 2005, at 10 am with Reverend Terry Parker, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermilion and Reverend Kent Wilson, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Willard, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Birmingham Cemetery.
