Elsa Grolla, 77, Vermilion Area Resident for Past 49 Years
Elsa Grolla (nee Dauber), 77 of Vermilion, died suddenly Thursday, July 28, 2005 at her home.
She was born December 30, 1927 in Steinbach, Germany and has been a Vermilion area resident for the past 49 years.
She graduated from the University of Wisconsin with her master's degree in finance. She worked for Society National Bank and retired in 1990 after 25 years as a Senior Vice President and Comptroller.
She had attended the E&R Church in Vermilion, and she enjoyed cooking, knitting, debating politics, and especially loved to travel.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Jane Eichler of Lorain, and Connie Sklarek of Amherst; one grandchild, Jamie Sklarek of Amherst; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband Gerhard Grolla in 2003; parents, Johann and Emilie (nee Schlemmer) Dauber; and two brothers, Heinz and Hans Dauber.
Friends may call Saturday, July 30, 2005 from 2:00 p.m., until the time of the funeral service at 5 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Reverend Doug Yost will be officiating.
