Frances A. Varouse, 90, Ss. Cyril & Methodius Parishioner

Photo of Frances A. Varouse Frances A. Varouse, (nee Logar), age 90, of Lorain, died Friday July 29, 2005 at Golden Acres Lorain County Nursing Home following a brief illness.

She was born April 25, 1915 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.

A parishioner of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, she had been employed as a seamstress for the Goodall Clothing Company and Weitz Clothing Company of Lorain; she had also formerly been employed as a cook for the Roman Villa Restaurant.

He hobbies included crocheting, cooking, swimming and sewing. Additional interests included flower and vegetable gardening..

Survivors included her daughter Frances Marie Kalosky and son-in-law Thomas Kalosky of Lorain, twelve nieces, and twenty nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1998, by her parents Jacob and Frances (nee Urbas) Logar, her brothers James Logar, Louis Logar, and Anthony Logar, Joseph Logar, and Charles Logar, and sisters Ann Merva and Josephine Muha.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway – Lorain where a parish rosary service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church – 1705 East 31st Street – Lorain. The Reverend Paul Krajnik, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park – Amherst Township.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to a charity of the donor's choice.
