Marlene P. Novak, 63, Lifelong Lorain Area Resident
Marlene P. Novak (nee Mackert), 63, of Lorain, died Saturday July 30, 2005 in the emergency room at Community Health Partners Hospital in Lorain after a lengthy illness.
She was born August 16, 1941 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Marlene was a graduate of Lorain High School in 1959 and attended the Lorain Business College.
She worked at Hills Department Store, WT Grant Department Store as a credit manager and at Smith & Gerhart Department Store.
Marlene was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Lorain where she sang in the church choir. She served on the PTA of Lorain schools and as a room mother.
She enjoyed swimming, bingo, cleaning and playing with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years Robert J. Novak of Lorain, daughters: Kimberlie McIntyre of Sheffield Lake and Cindy Keathley of Lorain, son Robert J. Novak, Jr. of Lorain, and 6 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herman & Elsie (nee Oheim) Mackert.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain and on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ, 715 Reid Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Philip Kuntz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
