Eleanora Georgann Marcum, 65, Lifelong Area Resident
Eleanora Georgann Marcum (nee: Bennett), 65 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2005 at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria following a lengthy illness.She was born on March 8, 1940 in Oberlin, raised in Elyria, and moved to South Amherst in 1951. Elyria had been her home for the last thirty-plus years.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Free Pentecostal Church in South Amherst. She loved reading the Bible; flowers; and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of forty-four years, Martin Willis Marcum; her sons Gregory and Johnny Ray Marcus, both of Waco, Texas and Martin W. Marcum, Jr. of Elyria; her daughters Deborah Ann Linden, Linda Lee Linden, and Shirley Ann Marcum all of Elyria; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and her sister Joan Williams of Oberlin.
She was preceded in death by her sons James E. and Robert Lee Marcum in infancy; and by her parents George and Violet Bennett (nee: Ivers).
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Larry Thomas, pastor of Free Pentecostal Church in South Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
