Anthony "Tony" Yuhas, 70
Anthony "Tony" Yuhas, 70 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Monday, August 8, 2005 at Lakewood Hospital following a lengthy illness.He was born September 3, 1934 in Brier Hill, Pennsylvania where he was raised. He moved to the Lorain County area at age 20.
He was employed at B.F. Goodrich for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1993 as a lab technician. He also worked at Hall's Floral Garden as a floor manager and salesman to local florists. Tony was a member of Church on the North Coast in Lorain. While in Florida, he attended Lakeland Assembly of God. He loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, bowling, softball, traveling, and spending winters in Florida.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Beverly Yuhas (nee Bigrigg); his sons Anthony Yuhas, Jr. and Stephen Yuhas, both of Lorain and Joel Yuhas of Long Beach, California; his daughter Marian Brockway of Vermilion; five grandchildren; his brother Michael Yuhas of Olmsted Falls; and his sisters Helen G. Wargo of Daiseytown, Pennsylvania, JoAnna Barth of Vermilion, and Rebecca E. DelTurco of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis V. and Mariam Yuhas (nee Ziots); and by his sister Roseanna F. Roupe.
Friends may call Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Louis Kayatin, pastor of Church on the North Coast, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
