Edna E. Reiber, 90, Teacher
Edna E. Reiber, 90 of Vermilion, died Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the Inn at Chappel Creek, Vermilion after a short illness.She was born November 7, 1914 in Vermilion Twp. and has been a life long resident of Vermilion.
She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1942, with a B.S. in Elementary Education.
She taught at Florence, Milan, Huron, Oakwood, Palm Avenue, and Charleston Elementary Schools.
She was a member of the Mitiwanga Evangelical and Reformed Church, where she had served as Pianist, Deaconess, Secretary, Treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent, and Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Girl's Missionary Guild. Most recently she belonged to the Vermilion Evangelical & Reformed Church where she served on the board of Christian Education, was a Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the choir and Merry Maker Class.
She was a charter member of the Vermilion Business and Professional Women's Club, belonged to the Lorain Business and Professional Women's Club, St. Joseph's Jr. Hospital Guild, College Club of Vermilion, National Retired Teachers Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and LORCORTA.
Survivors include one brother John O. Reiber of Huron, 4 nieces and 2 nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John Henry Sr. and Katharine Elizabeth (nee Otto) Reiber, sister, Katharine Burdue, and brother, George Reiber.
Friends may call Monday August 15, 2005 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Tuesday Aug. 16, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Daugherty Officiating. Interment will follow in Peaks Cemetery.
