Anne S. Woodin, 94, Active Member of Zion Lutheran Church

She was born December 29, 1910 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Before she married, Anne worked as a clerk at J.C. Penney for 10 years.

Anne was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain where she was a member of the Altar Guild and participated in many church activities. She and her husband Robert belonged to a couples club for over 40 years.

Anne volunteered at Lorain Community Hospital for 30 years and enjoyed gardening, needlework and sewing. She was always ready to help out friends, family and neighbors. She helped raise her granddaughter Darla from a baby to a teenager.

She is survived by her son Richard Woodin of Elyria, daughter Barbara Woodin of West Chester, Pennsylvania, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother George Folbert of Amherst and sister Mary Patterson of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Woodin, sisters Frieda Potter, Jean Parker, Hilda Diewald and Katherine Pauline and brother Joseph Sanders.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 16, 2005, 9:30 AM until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Kevin Saylor, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
