Joe Eddie Carrico, 63, Active Member of Sheffield Church of God

Joe Eddie Carrico, 63 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2005 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following several months of illness.

He was born March 20, 1942 in Chesapeake, West Virginia where he was raised. He has been a resident of Lorain County since the age of thirteen.

He was employed by General Motors in Parma for thirty-eight years. Joe was an active member of Sheffield Church of God. He enjoyed being active with his church volunteering his time and in a former church membership, he was active with the bus ministry. He loved track evangelizing and working on and repairing old bikes.

Survivors include his wife of nineteen years, Billie Joanne Carrico (nee Burnsworth); his son, Eddie J. Carrico of Georgia; his daughters Debbie Stuart of Georgia, Sharon Linden and Karen Peck, both of Elyria, his step-son, Randy Murphy of Avon; his step-daughters, Michelle Williamson and Rhonda Neal, both of Lorain; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his brother William Carrico of Vermilion; and his sister Judy Hankin of Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Willa Carrico (nee Green); and by his brother Roger Carrico.

Friends may call Tuesday, August 16, 2005 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Michael Le Buhn, pastor of Sheffield Church of God, and Rev. Freddie Garcia, pastor of Jesus of the Way Outreach in Lorain, will co-officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
