Joan Marie Trelay, 77, Enjoyed Religious Readings

Joan Marie Trelay, (nee Wierzbowski), age 77, of Elyria, died on Monday, August 15, 2005 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, following a brief illness.

She was born on January 3, 1928 in Lorain, where she lived until moving to Elyria in 1975.

She was employed as a assembler at Western Enterprises in Westlake, for many years. Prior to this she was employed at the Lorain County Courthouse in the Clerk of Courts Office and formerly worked at the former Woolworth's store in Elyria.

She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Elyria and a former member of St. John's Catholic Church, Lorain.

Joan enjoyed religious readings, enjoyed her family and talking to people.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years: Joseph J. Trelay, Sr., a daughter: Theodores "Teddy" C. Witt of Grafton, a step-son: Joseph J. Trelay, Jr. of Columbus, OH, 4 grandchildren and sisters: Alice Kasper and Ursula Simsic both of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband: Joseph Zestoki in 1971, parents: Frank and Theodores (nee Dyczkowski) Wierzbowski, brother: Leo Weirzbowski and sister: Lillian Carkula.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., in St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Elyria, with the Rev. Fr. James Ols, pastor, officiating. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, handled the arrangements.
