Dallas Justen, 89, Avid Outdoors Man

Dallas Justen, 89, of South Amherst passed away Sunday, August 21, 2005 at the home of his granddaughter in Canton following a brief illness.

Born June 18, 1916 in Lorain, he lived in the Lorain area all of his life.

He was a Foreman on the ore docks for CSX Railroad for 37 years, retiring in 1978.

He was a former member of the First Congregational Church in Lorain and a member of the Lorain Elks, and Longtime Mason.

He was an avid outdoors man; loving animals, especially horses and dogs. He enjoyed square dancing.

He is survived by his son, Kent Justen of LaGrange, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Proceeded in death by his 1st wife, Nevada Justen in 1988, 2nd wife Ada Justen in 2004, son, Dennison in 1971, grandson, Todd Justen, sister Geraldine Justen and parents, Anton and Eva (Booth) Justen.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 23, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 24th at 11 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Carl J. Richter will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
