Mr. Joseph A. Gaetz, 89, Parts & Service Manager
Mr. Joseph A. Gaetz age 89 of Grafton passed away Sunday August 28, 2005 in Elyria Memorial Hospital R.M.C. after a short illness.He was born Saturday, December 8, 1915 in Elyria and lived in the Grafton for 56 years.
He is a graduate of Elyria High School and he attended Grafton United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII serving in the Pacific Theater in Okinawa as a smoke generator operator from 1943 to 1946. He was employed by Pickering & Schwed Ford-Mercury in Grafton, and J.R. Dall in Elyria as a parts & service manager. Mr. Gaetz was a member of Mihalis VFW Post 1079 in Elyria, and the Polish Club in Elyria for many years.
He enjoyed collecting cobalt glass aluminum cans, gardening, and mowed many lawns in Grafton.
He is survived by his wife Alberta married 56 years, 1 Daughter Lorraine Kingman of Elyria, Ohio
1 Son Joseph A. Gaetz of Grafton, Ohio, 3 Grandsons Jason, Erinn, & Justin.
He is preceded in death by his parents Andrew & Mary Gaetz, 3 Brothers & 2 Sisters.
Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main Street, Grafton, from 10:30am until time of services at 11:30am Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Rev. Delaine McGee pastor of Grafton United Methodist Church will officiate.
