Rose Margaret Dudasik, 87, Sales Associate
Rose Margaret Dudasik (nee Trupo), age 87, of Elyria, died Monday, August 29, 2005 at her residence while under the care of the Hospice of the Western Reserve.Mrs. Dudasik was born in Youngstown, Ohio on October 4, 1917 and had been a resident of Elyria since the age of two. She was the third generation of her family to live and die in the family home there.
Following her graduation from high school, Rose enlisted in the Untied States Army during World War II. She served as a Private First Class attached to the 6668th WAC Headquarters Company. She fulfilled duty assignments as a clerk typist in North Africa and Italy and was the recipient of the WAC Service Ribbon, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, as well as the Good Conduct Ribbon.
She was formerly employed by the Lear-Siegler Corporation of Elyria as well as the May Department Store Company where she was employed as a sales associate.
Mrs. Dudasik was a parishioner of Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria. She was also a member of and a contributor to the Fraternal Order of Police organizations of Lorain County; she also was as an ardent supporter of Saint Rita’s School for the Deaf in Cincinnati, Ohio.
While enjoying good health, Rose was a frequent attendee of bingo games sanctioned by church and civic organizations throughout the area.
She is survived by her son, James A. Dudasik of Elyria, a sister, Mary Gerack of Longview, Texas, one niece, one nephew, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emil in 1997, by her father Egidio (James) Trupo in 1980, by her mother Mary (nee Sigryan) Rupo in 1936, and by a sister Thelma Trupo in 2004.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 611 Lake Avenue, Elyria. The Reverend Albert Krupp, pastor of Saint Agnes Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
