Evelyn Velez Valentine, 58, Exceptional Cook

Evelyn Velez Valentine (nee Arocho) 58 of Lorain died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 in E. M. H. Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born August 14, 1947 in Corozal, Puerto Rico. She Lived in Brooklyn, New York for two years before moving to Lorain in 1953.

Mrs. Valentine a was member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. She was a member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Crucillo Movement and the Virgin Mary Society. She was a homemaker and exceptional cook who enjoyed crocheting and reading and talking on the phone.

Among the survivors are her husband of 45 years Alejandro Valentine of Lorain; sons Alex, Sammy, Angel, Michael Velez all of Lorain and Eddie Velez of Daytona Beach Florida; daughters Norma Valentine of Hartford, Connecticut, Lucy and Linda Velez both of Lorain; brothers Pablo, Alfredo and David Arocho all of Puerto Rico, Hueriberto and Carlos Arocho both of Springfield, Massachusetts and Eduardo Arocho of Lorain; sisters Gladys, Julie and Sandra Arocho all of Puerto Rico and 24 Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Pablo and Carmen (nee Galan) Arocho; a brother Wilfredo and a sister Linda Arocho.

Friends may call Saturday, September 3, 2005, 9:00 am until time 12:00 PM noon Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, South Lorain. Reverend, Father Giampietro Gasparin of the Fathers of Saint Joseph, Avon will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, OH.
