Virginia A. ''Pottsy'' Potts, 69, Customer Services Rep.
Virginia A. Pottsy Potts, (nee Tonich), age 69, of Elyria, died Thursday, September 1, 2005 at the Autumn Aegis Rehabilitation Center in Lorain following an illness of five weeks.She was born November 24, 1935 in Lorain and had been a resident of Elyria for the past fifteen years.
She was a 1953 graduate of Lorain High School; since 1987 she had been employed as a circulation and customer services representative for the Morning Journal. She had previously been employed in the bank card department of Lorain National Bank and had also served as a head cashier for the Kroger Company at its Meister Road and South Lorain stores.
Virginia was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Peter in Lorain; her hobbies included flower gardening, cooking, entertaining, and travel. She also enjoyed the company of her grandchildren.
Ms. Potts is survived by sons, Michael of Lorain, Tom of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Christopher of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, grandchildren Jessica, Josh, Andrew and Hunter and by brothers Andrew Tonich of Amherst and Thomas Tonich of Vermilion.
She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Mary (nee Fundak) Tonich.
Visitation will be Monday, September 5, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10 a.m. in the Catholic Church of Saint Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Charles Henkle, O.F.M. Conv., associate pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
