Melvina Burgess, 67, Press Operator
Melvina Burgess, (nee Akers), age 67, of Lorain, died on Monday, September 12, 2005 at her residence, following a short illness.She was born on July 14, 1938 in Pikesville, Kentucky and resided in Lorain most of her life.
She was employed as a press operator at Trio Products, Elyria and Cleveland for many years.
She was a member of Fleming Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, Lorain.
She enjoyed crocheting, planting flowers and going to church. She loved everyone and had a huge heart.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years: Frank Eugene Burgess, son: Richard Burgess, of Lorain, brothers: Quinton Akers, of Columbiaville, MI, Junior Akers, of Mayville, MI, Dennis Akers, of Cynthiana, KY and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother: Rosie (nee Howell) Akers and father: Sie Akers, brothers: Kenis Akers, Oscar Akers and Andy Akers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m at Fleming Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, 4905 Fleming Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44055. Rev. Herman Copley, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
