Doris K. Yurovich, 70, Worked at McDonald's on Lorain's East Side
Doris K. Yurovich (nee Matos), 70, of Largo, Florida and formerly of Lorain, died Sunday, September 18, 2005 at Sabal Palms Care Center in Largo, Florida after a long illness.She was born December 3, 1934 in Lorain and had lived in Lorain most of her life. She had moved to Largo in May of this year.
Doris was a graduate of Lorain High School with the class of 1953A and while in school worked part time at Elthems Florist in Lorain.
Doris worked at McDonald’s Restaurant on Colorado Avenue and later on Kansas Avenue in Lorain for 30 years retiring in 2000.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain where she served as a lay minister and was a member of the church Marian Guild.
Doris enjoyed her children’s school and sports activities, flea market shopping, trips to Amish country, baking food such as nutroll and poppyseed roll, cooking (especially around the holidays) and flower gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Richard Yurovich of Largo, Florida, sons Douglas Yurovich with the US Marine Corps at Lemoore Naval Air Station in Lemoore, California, Dale Yurovich of Columbus and Daniel Yurovich of Malborough, Massachusetts, 3 grandchildren, sisters Marilyn Mercurio of Lorain and Ellen Michie of Scottsdale, Arizona and brothers Richard Matos and Joseph Matos, both of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Matos (nee Fundak).
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 22, 2005, from 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the St. Anthony Marian Guild will pray the rosary Thursday at 3:45 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 AM in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Joseph West, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
