Lucy H. Carocci, 88, St. Joseph Hospital Volunteer
Lucy H. Carocci (nee Caldonia), 88, of Lorain, died Thursday September 22, 2005 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a short illness.She was born November 7, 1916 in Buffalo, New York and had resided in Lorain since 1958.
For several years Lucy volunteered in the coffee shop at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain and enjoyed rose gardening and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters Carol Karhusz of Lorain, Rose Marie Koscho of Lorain and Mary Lou Madaras of Avon Lake, sister Jen Catanzaro of Buffalo, New York, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Carocci on April 7, 2001, parents Louis and Mary Caldonia (nee DeVito), sister Mary Mangano and brother Frank Caldonia.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 25, 2005, from 4-8 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 AM. The mass of Christian Burial will follow Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Joseph West, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
