Antonia ''Tona'' Alvarado, 81, Enjoyed Cooking & Baking

Antonia "Tona" Alvarado (nee Rodriguez) 81 of Lorain died Sunday, September 25, 2005 in Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, Lorain following a brief illness.

She was born November 5, 1923 in Cayey, Puerto Rico. She came to Lorain in 1951.

Mrs. Alvarado was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, where she was a member of the choir and the Crucillo Movement.

She a homemaker who, enjoyed cooking and baking. She also enjoyed Traveling and sight seeing.

Among the survivors are her son Hector A. Alvarado of Lorain; a brother Victor Rodriguez of San Juan, Puerto Rico; two grandchildren and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by husband of fifty years Algio Alvarado in November of 1996; son Osvaldo Alvarado and daughter Myrna Alvarado and sisters Julieta Maldonado and Felisa Gomez.

Friends may call Tuesday, September 27, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio.

Funeral services will be Wednesday with closing prayers at the funeral home at 8:45 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, South Lorain. Reverend, Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
