William P. Gross Sr., 80, WWII Army Veteran

William P. Gross Sr., age 80, of Lorain passed away, Monday September 26, 2005 at Community Health Partners Hospital following a short illness.

Born October 9, 1924 in Lorain, William has lived in the area all of life.

He retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1990 after 10 years of service in the Maintenance Department. Prior to Ford he worked at Thew Shovel in Lorain for 25 years. William was a WWII Army Veteran and enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, and taking walks.

Survivors include his sons William Grozik of Vermilion, David Gross of Grafton, 1 Granddaughter, Sisters Rose Gross of Vermilion, Dorothy Lachman of Lorain, Betty Ralph of Lorain, Brother Alfred Gross of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Anne Gross on February 24, 2005, parents Peter and Susie Gross and sister Helen Phillips.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 29, 2005 from 7-9 PM and Friday from 10 AM till time of service at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Kunz officiating. Military service combined honors will be provided by Cemetery Ridge Hill Memorial Park VFW Post 451 and American Legion Post 30.
