Edward C. Kuncel, 84, Insurance Claim Adjuster, Civil War Buff
Edward C. Kuncel, 84, of Kankakee, Illinois and formerly of Lorain, died Saturday October 1, 2005 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky after a lengthy illness.He was born November 1, 1920 in Lorain and had resided in Kankakee, Illinois for 35 years before moving to the veterans home four months ago.
Edward served with the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
He worked as a claims adjuster for Trans America Insurance Company in Kankakee retiring in 1990 and was also a Chief Deputy Sheriff for 5 years with the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department.
Edward enjoyed hunting, shooting and was a civil war buff.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rose M. Kuncel (nee Stiber) and brothers Al Kuncel and Frank Kuncel.
Private burial services will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
