Edward J. Brady, 83, WWII Veteran and B.F. Goodrich Retiree

Edward J. Brady, 83 of Lorain died late Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2005, at the New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph following a brief illness.

Mr. Brady was born on November 16, 1921, in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. He attended Bowling Green University.

He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II. He was a sergeant assigned to the 443rd Military Police Prisoner of War Processing Company. He was involved in the battles at Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes and the Rhineland. He earned the EAME Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct medal with 3 overseas Service Bars.

Mr. Brady retired in 1984 as a machinist from B.F. Goodrich after 20 years of service. He enjoyed fishing. He maintained a Backyard Wild Bird Habitat and enjoyed all the wild birds that lived there.

He is survived by his wife Betty Jane (nee Bumke) Brady, to whom he was married on April 29, 1950. He is also survived by a daughter Susan Haas of Louisville, KY, sons Kenneth Brady of Houston, TX, Daniel Brady of Sheffield Lake, Edward Brady of Milford, OH and 4 grandchildren.

Mr. Brady was preceded in death by his parents Edward James and Freda Marie (nee Esterle) Brady and a sister June Fisher.

Funeral services and burial was private.
