Jason E. Wiech, 28, US Navy Veteran; Assistant Manager AMC

Photo of Jason E. Wiech Jason E. Wiech, 28, of Lorain, died Tuesday October 4, 2005 at his home after a 10 month illness with leukemia.

He was born October 3, 1977 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Jason was a 1996 graduate of Southview High School in Lorain. He served with the US Navy as an Airman from 1999-2003 and served on the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Jason worked at AMC Theater in Rocky River as the assistant manager. At age 16 he worked at the Palace Theater in Lorain as a projectionist and supervisor. He was active in theater and enjoyed travel.

He is survived by his wife of 2 years Marina Wiech of Lorain, son Dimitry Jason Wiech at home, parents Allen & Sally Wiech (nee Smith) of Lorain, sister Kimberly Bremke of Amherst, brother Craig Wiech of Bellevue, Nebraska, sister Stephanie Lewandowski of Lorain and 8 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 7, 2005, from 4-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Linwood Chamberlain and the Rev. Jimmy Madsen, co-pastors, will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain, OH. 44052 or to establish a college fund for his son Dimitry.
