Rose Anne Ksenich, 71, US Navy Veteran, Secretary for City Prosecutor

Photo of Rose Anne Ksenich Rose Anne Ksenich, 71, of Lorain, died Wednesday October 5, 2005 at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.

She was born September 19, 1934 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Rose Anne graduated from Lorain High School in 1952. She served with the US Navy from 1953-1957 as a Yeoman Third Class. She attended Lorain Business College for two years, computer school and modeling & beauty school.

She worked as a secretary at US Steel in Lorain, Frank Nardini & John Dandrea Trucking Company, National Gypsum Company and later at the Lorain City Prosecutor’s Office retiring in 2003.

Rose Anne was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain where she was an active volunteer in church activities. She was an active volunteer with Republican Party fundraisers and ran for city council for her ward. She served as a precinct committee person during elections and was a notary public. In the mid 1950’s Rose Anne participated in the Lorain Beauty Pageant and rode a float in the parade.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed golfing, bowling, shopping, computer gaming and holiday and birthday celebrations with her family. She was most noted for her effervescent personality and bright smile.

She is survived by her sister Virginia Ksenich of Lorain, brother George E. Ksenich and his wife Mary of Lorain, nephews George S. Ksenich and his wife Gail of Amherst and Howard Ksenich and his wife Fran of Lorain, nieces Debora Ksenich of LaGrange and Pamela Ksenich of Cleveland, great nephews George, Gannon and Daniel Ksenich. She was preceded in death by her parents George & Mary Ksenich (nee Andrascsik).

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 9, 2005, from 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the Parastas service will be held Sunday at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th St., Lorain. The Rev. Nicholas Rachford, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain with military honors by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard.
