John David 'Smiley' Thesing, 70, Rigger

Born August 20, 1935 in Lorain, he has been a life long resident of the area.

He retired in 1999 from US Steel Corp. Mr. Thesing was a Navy Veteran serving on the USS Rayfield. He was enjoyed roller skating and dancing.

Survivors include his son, Richard Thesing of Atoka, TN, daughter, Gina Krulock of Elyria, three grandchildren, sisters, Rosemary Ritenauer of Lorain, Patricia Heit of Cincinnati, brothers Douglas Thesing of York, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Agnes (Cameron) Thesing and sister Joanne Imbrogno.

Private services will be held.
