Virginia D. Skellenger, 82, Enjoyed Golf and Music
Virginia D. Skellenger (nee Knau), 82 of Boca Raton, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at her home after lengthy illness.She was born December 21, 1922 in Canton, Ohio, lived in Vermilion from 1965-1995, and moved to Boca Raton , Florida in 1995.
She had been a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion, enjoyed golf, music, and playing the organ.
She is survived by 2 step sons, Guy Skellenger of Boca Raton, FL and Mark Skellenger of Avon Lake, 2 step daughters, Claudia Citro of Lorain and Susan Skellenger of South Amherst; 7 grandchildren; and sister, Katherine Hills, Miami, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Skellenger, a son, Matthew Skellenger, a sister, Marguarite Ullman, and her parents Paul and Mildred Gnau.
Graveside services will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Friday, October 21, 2005. Father Jim Holmer, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, will officiate. Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, is in charge of arrangements.
